UN Country Team - Zimbabwe COVID-19 response weekly update Issue 14

01 August 2020, Harare - The United Nations Country Team in Zimbabwe weekly update on COVID-19 covering the week ending on 31 July 2020 shows that Zimbabwe has 3,169 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 1004 recoveries and 67 deaths (source MOHCC).

This 14th issue highlights the tightened lockdown due to increasing spread of COVID-19; interpretation of UN human rights committee on the rights of peaceful assembly; UN and partners support to capacitate COVID-19 response in provinces.

The weekly update also highlights an urgent appeal for funding of USD 250 million to feed four million people affected by COVID-19, drought and economic shock; and efforts to promote grassroots movement to deliver justice and service to survivors of gender-based violence.
